Education: Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent is generally preferred. Experience and education may be substituted for one another.
Type: Temporary Part-Time
Experience: Experience in administrative support work is preferred. Knowledge of office practices and administrative procedures. Basic knowledge of health education. Skill in the use of standard office equipment and software. Ability to implement administrative procedures; to interpret rules, regulations, policies, and procedures; to communicate effectively, and to train others.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Performs administrative support or technical program assistance work. Work involves disseminating information, maintaining filing systems, and performing internal administrative support work. Works under general supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED
Works with Community Outreach staff to support healthy living coalitions.
Prepares and disseminates information concerning department programs and objectives.
Keeps records of activities involving assigned programs.
Prepares, edits, and distributes correspondence, reports, studies, forms, and documents.
Maintains filing, record-keeping, and records management systems.
Assists with planning and coordinating meetings, conferences, and seminars.
Participates in the planning and execution of the community outreach program.
Compiles and enters data for charts, graphs, databases, summaries, or reports.
Assists with answering phone calls, routing incoming calls, taking messages, greeting visitors, and directing visitors to the appropriate staff.
May assist Program Director, Assistant Director, Project Manager, and Project Coordinators with compiling and submitting required reports.
May research, compose, design, or edit agency publications such as brochures, forms, and manuals.
May develop training materials.
May assist with media relations as it relates to the work plan and development of public service announcements.
May train others.
Performs related work as assigned.


Department: COMMUNITY OUTREACH

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

*Performs administrative support or technical program assistance work. Work involves disseminating information and performing internal administrative support work. Works under general supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED

*Compile regional statistics for creation of databases, infographics, and/or reports for health literacy campaigns.

*Familiarity with utilizing ArcGIS and/or similar software to assist data-driven decision-making processes.

*Assist with media relations as it relates to the development and the delivery of public service announcements.

*Assist the development of bilingual communications campaigns to deliver health literacy information.

*Implement programs that deliver bilingual health literacy information and evaluate their effectiveness.

*May assist Program Director, Assistant Director, and Project Managers with compiling required reports.

*May research, compose, design, or edit agency publications such as brochures, forms, and manuals.

*Participates in the execution of other services provided by the Community Outreach Department.

*Prepares and disseminates information concerning department programs and objectives.

*Prepares, edits, and distributes correspondence, reports, studies, forms, and documents.

GENERAL QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES

Experience and Education

*Experience in bilingual health education delivery is preferred. Graduation from a post-secondary educational institution or equivalent is generally preferred. Experience and education may be substituted for one another.

*Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

*Knowledge of office practices and administrative procedures.

*Skill in the use of standard office equipment and software.

*Ability to implement administrative procedures; to interpret rules, regulations, policies, and procedures; to communicate effectively, and to train others.

*Ability to converse fluently in Spanish and in English is preferred but not required.

WORKING CONDITIONS

*Observes General Safety Policy at all times. Notifies supervisor of safety problems.

*Must be able to spend up to eight (8) hours walking, standing, and/or sitting.

*Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
