The Northeast Texas Public Health District (NET Health) is proud to announce that nominations are now being accepted for the 2026 W.T. “Doc” Ballard Award for Excellence in Public Health.
This prestigious award recognizes an individual or organization that has made a significant impact on public health in our region.
Previous honorees have included public health leaders, medical professionals, educators, local officials, and dedicated community advocates.
Nominees don’t need to be public health professionals, but their service should reflect a commitment to improving public well-being in areas like environmental health, nutrition, health education, or preventive care.
Named after W.T. “Doc” Ballard, an original member of the NET Health Board of Directors and a lifelong advocate for community health.

All nominations must be received or postmarked by 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 21, 2026.

Each nomination should include:
• A brief letter (250 words or less) explaining why the nominee deserves this honor
• A one-page bio or résumé
