Certified Pool Operator (CPO) Training

Certified Pool Operator Registration

Course Description:  An advanced pool operator training course provides individuals with: knowledge, techniques, and skills of pool and spa operations.  This training helps to reduce hazards in pool facilities and in turn protects the lives swimmers.


Topics covered are: 

  • Water chemistry, testing, chemical additions & safety

  • Calculations for efficient operations

  • Preventive maintenance

  • Safety Considerations

  • Energy management

  • Pool/Spa inspection/checklist

Schedule:  The TX DSHS recognizes several different course and exam curriculum.  The cost will vary depending on the test provider. Ensure the class you select is a recognized course.  If you need assistance contact us at (903) 535 - 0037.  

Registration:  Once you receive your certificate, complete the Certified Pool Operator Registration Form and register this certificate at our Environmental Health Department office at 815 North Broadway Avenue in Tyler, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. 

Payment: NET Health encourages our pool operators to take advantage of this in-depth class.  Students will be exempt from the annual basic training course for the life of the CPO Certificate (5 years).  We will register this certificate at no charge into the NET Health database.
