Public Health Emergency Preparedness

Public Health Emergency Preparedness

We work with multiple disciplines such as law enforcement, the medical community, emergency management, emergency medical services and other city, county and state officials to ensure readiness to respond to any community emergency. This includes acts of bioterrorism, infectious disease outbreaks, or any threat to the health of our community.

Disease Surveillance

Our mission is to conduct surveillance, investigation, prevention, education and control activities to prevent outbreaks and the spread of communicable diseases in the community.

We receive reports of infectious disease from health care professionals, schools, daycares, and individuals. Each case of infectious disease is promptly investigated to determine the cause. Immediately following the investigation, appropriate control measures are established to prevent the spread of infection. All case reporting and records are confidential.

NET Health provides Disease Surveillance within Smith, Gregg, Wood, Rains, Van Zandt, Henderson, and Anderson counties.

Preparedness Education
All of the members of our team have completed rigorous training that we provide to our communities.

We offer a wide range of presentations from disaster readiness to communicable disease to pandemic flu.

We can tailor all of our education presentations to the specific needs of your agency or community.

Medical Reserve Corps
We are dedicated to establishing teams of local volunteers with medical and public health experience to contribute their skills and expertise. Our MRC participates in many public health activities throughout the year as well as during times of community need. Some of our prior activities include seasonal flu immunization clinics and sheltering activities during the 2005 hurricanes. Periodic training is provided to all volunteers.
