Our Story: Meeting a Community's Need

The NET Health Center for Healthy Living, established in 2013, stands as a beacon of health and wellness for the Tyler, Texas, community. Housed in a repurposed fire station, the center was created in response to the rising prevalence of obesity and chronic diseases across East Texas. NET Health transformed this historic space into a vibrant hub for health services, aiming to empower residents with the tools and knowledge needed to lead healthier lives.

At the heart of the center is a dedicated team of Community Health Workers who provide personalized care and connect individuals to critical health resources. The center offers free health screenings, including blood pressure, cholesterol, blood glucose, and BMI assessments, as well as referrals for primary care and mental health services. One of its hallmark services is mammogram screening, which has become a cornerstone for the women who visit, providing accessible preventive care and early detection support.

This vital work is made possible through partnerships with community organizations that share a commitment to improving health outcomes in East Texas. Collaborations with UT Tyler, Bethesda Health Clinic, Tyler Family Circle of Care, and PATH, among others, strengthen the center’s ability to address the diverse needs of the community. Together, these partnerships expand access to care, resources, and education, making a lasting impact on the lives of those served.

Beyond its services, the NET Health Center for Healthy Living embodies a commitment to addressing the root causes of chronic disease. Through health education, nutrition counseling, and chronic disease management programs, the center equips the community with actionable steps toward a healthier future.

What began as a response to a health crisis has evolved into a trusted partner in the well-being of Tyler and its surrounding areas. The NET Health Center for Healthy Living continues to honor its mission of improving lives, one visit at a time.
